Stuff is looking up a bit. Teaching is hard but it hasn’t all gone to hell in a handbasket yet and I seem to be getting a bit better at behaviour management, maybe. I gave four detentions today :-/ Also, I am confirmed for moving out of my parents’ house into a unit in October. (So hopefully I will have a job next term?). Gradually growing more excited about that.

Also excited by this 30-second sample from Brand New’s new album up on Amazon.com. I don’t hate it, and it’s Brand New so I’ll probably grow to love it. New Brand New!

What else… someone let me know that FreeRice.com now lets you practise foreign language vocabulary (matching words with English synonyms) as well as your English vocabulary. It turns out that there’s a subjects page where not only can you pick a foreign language, but you can also choose to practice English grammar, chemistry, geography, maths and art history. I would recommend this site to anyone!

This morning I dropped Josh off at work as part of the new Claire’s Unemployed Chauffeur Service. Now I am at home eating frozen peas and writing job applications :(

Anyway, today Josh came over and literally sat next to me going “100 more ~~reps~~ words, okay now 100 more, look you’re nearly done!” until I finished an entire assignment! And then he made me start the next one. So now, I only have 4.5 more to finish in the next week!

Well “only”. But still it was good.

I went on an excursion with year 8s to the zoo yesterday, oh god. They weren’t naughty at all, but still… four hours of COME ON GUYS. HURRY UP GUYS. GROUP THREE? IF YOU’RE IN GROUP THREE WE’RE GOING TO THE TIGERS NOW. LET’S GO. COME ON GIRLS CATCH UP. ARE YOU FILLING IN YOUR WORKSHEETS? IT’S LE TIGRI. COME ON! ARE YOU FINISHED? COME ON WE NEED TO GET TO THE HIPPOS is exhausting! With seven more teaching days, I am just hanging out for prac to be over now. There has been no sneaking off to cry in my office/my car/the toilets this time around so no one can say it’s not been an improvement but I’ve still managed to work myself up into a bit of a persistent stressed state. Too much of getting assessed on my every move :( Right now, partly as an anxiety response and partly from tiredness, I have no idea what I’m doing half the time. I keep drifting right out of conversations. And like. I know I have some powers of analytical thought but cannot actually access them right now? I want my brain back!!

Seven more double lessons and four more singles. And then I get to just work admin and do assignments :) I MISS IT.
